Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help remember your preferences and make the service work.
The Old Farm's Approach
We take a minimal approach to cookies. We distinguish three contexts:
- Institutional website (
www.theold.farm): by default we collect only anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (PostHog in cookieless mode, no persistent identifiers); it cannot be traced back to identifiable individuals. Full analytics (with cookies) are enabled only with your consent given via the banner; you can change your choice anytime via "Cookie preferences" in the footer. - Public pages (e.g. product pages via QR tag): no cookies. Only the language preference is saved in the browser's
localStorage, which is not personal data and is not transmitted to our servers. - Dashboard (
app.theold.farm): strictly necessary technical cookies (authentication, security) and usage analytics (PostHog) to improve the product, based on the legitimate interest of the Controller (you can object by writing to privacy@theold.farm).
Dashboard Cookies
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
session | User authentication | Session | Strictly necessary |
locale | Language preference | 1 year | Strictly necessary |
theme | Light/dark theme preference | 1 year | Strictly necessary |
Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent as they are essential for the Service to function.
Third-Party Cookies
We minimize the use of third-party cookies. Currently:
- PostHog (usage analytics): measures use of the site and dashboard to improve the product. Hosted in the EU (
eu.i.posthog.com), with the client IP discarded. On the institutional website it runs in anonymous/cookieless mode by default (aggregate statistics, exempt from consent) and full, with cookies, only with consent. See PostHog's privacy policy. - Stripe: for secure payment processing and fraud prevention, set only when you make a payment. Managed by Stripe under its privacy policy.
Your Cookie Choices
On the institutional website you can accept or decline full analytics via the banner, and change your choice anytime from the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer: if you decline, only anonymous aggregate statistics remain active (no cookies). You can also manage cookies from your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge); disabling strictly necessary cookies may impair the Dashboard's functionality.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be published on this page with an updated date.
